Livingetc Magazine Profiles Dee Murphy Bungalow Design Featuring Blue Parakeet Rugs

Dee Murphy of Murphy Deesign spoke with Oonagh Turner of Livingetc Magazine to share her tips for bringing soul and character to a new build, and the focus was a stunning bungalow project that included Blue Parakeet Rugs! The home design was previously featured in CA Home + Design Magazine, and you can see our previous post about that here on our Buzz page.

In the Livingetc piece, Dee advises embracing pattern and color, and bringing in beautiful vintage elements — basically our mantra around here at Blue Parakeet Rugs! The rug Dee chose for this project adds all that plus a century of history, bringing life to the space. Turner writes, “For the living room and family room, it is the rug choice that was most important to Dee, and the Persian rug style helped kick off the color scheme and provide a direct tie to the seaweed wallpaper. The rug allows for blues and reds to follow, and pared back white walls allows the color palette come to life through the choice of furniture.”
