Bath Transformed by Emily Henderson Alum with Blue Parakeet Rugs
The latest Blue Parakeet Rugs collab was featured on the Style by Emily blog! Julie Rose, who joined Velinda Hellen Design alongside two fellow EHD alums, writes about her first VHD project as Lead Designer: a stunning transformation of a truly aughts bathroom into a modern, serene space that’s equal parts organic and classic.
Before photos show beige-on-beige tile and cabinetry while the finished bath is an earthy palette of moss, stone, brass, and wood — perfectly finished with a weathered tobacco antique Caucasian runner from Blue Parakeet Rugs!
Julie writes, “The colors of the rug’s design worked so well with the green tile & rust styling accents. Plus, the design has a geometric/contemporary feel but is so classic and is a true vintage piece. Every room deserves to have at least one ‘antique/used’ item for some added soul. Sheba, the owner of Blue Parakeet Rugs, is so knowledgable in her field, and if you live in the LA area, she does a “Rug ’N’ Roll,” bringing tons of options to her clients’ homes to see which is the right fit for each room. Her process is so fun to watch on IG Stories!”
We’re so grateful for the shout out! Working with Julie and everyone from EHD is such a privilege and a joy. We love finding homes for rugs and documenting their journeys for our community of rug-lovers. And like Julie said, anyone in SoCal can take advantage of our incredible Rug ’N' Roll shop-at-home program!
