House Beautiful Kitchen Tour Features Blue Parakeet Rugs
A Blue Parakeet Rugs antique Persian tribal runner graced dreamy photos by Sara Ligorria-Tramp in a kitchen makeover story by Kristin Tablang on HouseBeautiful.com.
Designer Ginny MacDonald took on the epic kitchen redesign and reimagined it from the ground up. The space posed some unusual challenges, like a dropped ceiling beam above the sink and a C-shaped floor plan. The designer combined her incredible vision and inspiration from the “home’s lush surroundings” to create a singularly beautiful space that evokes both modern style and the natural world outside, as if it has always been just as she made it.
The new kitchen is earthy and so, so SoCal with its natural woods and milky cabinetry in cream and aloe green balanced against luxurious pops of bronze hardware and fixtures and a moss herringbone tile backsplash.
We’ve had the privilege of working with Ginny for about five years now and trust her implicitly, so we were thrilled when she picked this stunner of a runner for the project! The worn jewel tones and pattern in this vegetable-dyed wool rug play in perfect harmony with the natural and modern elements in the space and add a dash of classic, cozy style.
