Rue Magazine is re-publishing its readers’ most loved home tours from 2019, and a Blue Parakeet Rugs project has made the cut! The August 2019 gallery post by Victoria de la Camara with photos by Christopher Lee Foto takes readers inside a 1920s Tudor home in the Hollywood Hills beautifully restored by Caitlin Sourapas. The design team kept the classic Tudor charms like bookshelves and a built-in bar and decorated the finished space with an elegant mix of dark and light furnishings — all set against the timeless jewel tones of antique rugs from Blue Parakeet Rugs.

Caitlin said, “We found a huge resource through Blue Parakeet Rugs… The owner, Sheba, would come out to the house and bring her truck full to the brim with antique rugs of every size for us to play with and choose. There is an antique Persian rug from her in almost every single room of the house!”

The gallery shows off the assortment of color and size of Blue Parakeet rugs throughout the home. The house even features rugs sized to the custom staircase Caitlin’s team built out during the renovation. Sheba and Caitlin selected rugs that would work together as a stairs runner, which Sheba then had hand cut and professionally installed to create a truly one-of-a-kind staircase.
