Luxe Interiors + Design writer Abigail Stone goes inside a Denver home glowing with gorgeous saturated color — and Blue Parakeet Rugs — designed by our longtime fave Emily Tucker of Emily Tucker Design..

Emily is based in Boulder, CO, but our first collab with her was actually a home she reimagined in New York. Since then, her fame has only grown, and recently she even made the LUXE Gold List. This project is a great illustration of her imagination and creativity, and of the seamless match that antique rugs can make with any style. In this Colorado Tudor, she brings a youthful, modern energy into a very traditional home and incredible color and texture into every space.

In the dining room, “she mixed classic and contemporary choices, first selecting a very traditional vintage Persian rug to ‘ground the room in history, while a modern table, chairs and light fixture bring it right back to the present day.’” The Blue Parakeet Rugs Heriz works perfectly against large built-ins that would otherwise dominate the space. The thoughtful approach to color and layering of styles continues throughout the house, which feels modern, personal and super comfortable.
