Blue Parakeet Rugs Custom Runner in Architectural Digest

Today Architectural Digest took its readers inside a restored Los Feliz home drenched in a perfect mix of colors, textures, and personal style, which naturally includes Blue Parakeet Rugs. The home belongs to Blackish producer Courtney Lilly and film and media professor Miranda Banks, with design by the amazingly talented Mandy Cheng of AD100.

Blue Parakeet Rugs has been working with Mandy since meeting her at our first project, in Venice, CA. Last summer, we hosted another signature Rug N Roll for Mandy, curating a collection of rugs to shop from on-site, which helped her to create the one-of-a-kind stair runner seen in the magazine. As AD explains, “Cheng sourced vintage Persian rugs from Blue Parakeet Rugs. She whittled her selection down from 50 runners to six that were sewn together.” Even Monkey, the couple’s adorable dog featured in the photo spread, agrees the end result is a stunner of a runner!

Head over to Architectural Digest to read more about Mandy’s approach to personalizing a client’s desired look and to be inspired by Lilly’s and Banks’s perfectly eclectic home.  The article is written by Kristen Flanagan with photography by Madeline Tolle.
