Dwell Tours Spanish LA Home with Blue Parakeet Rugs
Dwell recently took readers on a tour of the stunning ‘Catalan’ home outside Culver City outfitted with gorgeous architectural elements and striking rugs from Blue Parakeet Rugs.
From the outside, the arched driveway and tiled roof are oh-so-Spanish-California, but inside, Catalan Modernism vibes take over, with natural woods and sophisticated bohemian furnishings in muted tones of brown and white. Styled by Ethan Kotch of our favorite a1000Xbetter, the Modernisme aesthetic unifies the main home, the outdoor pool area, and the inviting guesthouse complete with kitchenette. The design and build by sought-after Allprace Homes stand out for its thoughtful details, especially the way the home makes use of sunlight to create serene spaces a world away from the bustle of LA.
Luxurious fabrics and finishes are keys to the success of any modern decor, and of course, vintage Persian rugs top that list! The dining and kitchen areas are anchored by a jewel-box Persian Heriz and a runner alongside the kitchen island. In the guesthouse, a tribal rug plays perfectly with casual furnishings and an earthy brick floor.
